Acid rain
Any precipitation that is more acidic than normal. Most commonly caused by sulfur dioxide released from the smokestacks of coal-burning power plants and other industrial sources, acid rain damages buildings, aquatic plants and animals and forests and may be harmful to the health of human beings.
